Calendly in Switzerland: prices, languages and data protection

What Calendly costs, what is free, which languages it runs in and where your data is kept. Explained plainly, by a Swiss competitor.

What is Calendly?

Calendly is an online appointment booking tool from the United States. You set when you are available and share a link. Whoever wants an appointment picks a free time, and it lands in your calendar.

Calendly connects to Google Calendar, Outlook and iCloud and can create the link for Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. It is one of the best-known tools of its kind worldwide.

What does Calendly cost?

Calendly has a free plan and paid plans. Standard costs from USD 10 per seat a month billed yearly, and Teams from USD 16. Paying monthly costs more. As of 13 October 2026, according to Calendly's pricing page.

Billing is in US dollars. Your card converts to francs, usually with a foreign-currency surcharge, and the amount moves with the exchange rate. Your books therefore show a slightly different amount every month.

Is Calendly free?

Yes, with limits. The free plan includes one event type and one connected calendar. For a single intro call, that is enough.

Once you need several event types, such as an intro call, a follow-up and a phone call, or want a second calendar checked, you need a paid plan. For comparison, Zitli Free also includes one booking page, with unlimited appointments.

Is Calendly available in German, French and Italian?

The booking page your clients see can be shown in German, French, Italian and a few other languages. You set the language per event type. Calendly does not translate your own text, such as the event name, the description and your questions. You write those yourself in the language you want.

For Switzerland this means that with clients in two language regions, you create the same event type several times, once per language. It works, but it needs upkeep.

Calendly and data protection in Switzerland

Calendly is a US company and stores and processes data in the United States. According to its privacy notice, it is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and also relies on Standard Contractual Clauses. The transfer to the United States rests on these.

What that means for you depends on your data. For a sales call it is rarely an issue. If you handle health data, client mandates or other sensitive personal data, name the transfer to the United States in your own privacy notice and check that it fits your professional secrecy duties and client contracts. This text is not legal advice.

What about Swiss public holidays?

Switzerland does not have one holiday calendar; it has 26. Corpus Christi, 2 January or All Saints' Day are public holidays in one canton and not in the next. A tool that only knows holidays per country is therefore often wrong.

Check in Calendly that your canton's holidays are right, and block any missing days by hand. Do it again every year, because movable holidays change date.

When a Swiss tool fits better

Calendly is a good tool, and for many people it is enough. Stay with it if you depend on a specific integration, need team features, or your clients are mostly international.

A Swiss tool fits better if you want to pay in francs, if your canton's holidays should be right without manual work, and if you prefer a provider based in Switzerland with hosting in the EU. Zitli is built for that: Free at CHF 0, Pro at CHF 16 a month including VAT, in German, French, Italian and English.
